Description
Our STAR Program is offering the opportunity to be a part of production of Seussical Kids – all learned in 2 weeks of camp! The two week camp (Week 1: 9am – 3pm Tuesday – Friday at Enrichment Center; Week 2: 9am-3pm Monday – Friday at Performing Arts Center) is capped off with 2 performances at the Williamson County Performing Arts Center on Saturday, June 8 at 3pm and 6:30pm.
Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat, our narrator, tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child, who gets in trouble for thinking too many "thinks." Horton's challenge is twofold — not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!
Seussical KIDS is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.MTIShows.com.
Participants should bring a labeled water bottle and a nut-free, non-messy, non-refrigerated lunch to camp each day.
There is a $25 costume/supply fee that should be paid directly to the instructor the first day of camp. There is a $25 sibling discount (after first child) if siblings register in the same transaction.
Refund/credit/transfers must be processed through Alison Worden (alison.worden@williamsoncounty-tn.gov) a minimum of 48 hours prior to the first class session.
