This class will highlight the fun, creative, and skill-building aspects of improvisation through:• Focus on Fun & Creativity: The course emphasizes theater games and activities that foster spontaneity and imaginative thinking.• Building Foundational Improv Skills: Work on interpretation and storytelling skills and learning core concepts like "yes, and...", active listening, and scene work.• Developing Confidence: Provides a safe and supportive environment for teens to express themselves and take creative risks.• Enhancing Communication & Social Skills: Improves teamwork, collaboration, and the ability to interact effectively with others. • Encouraging Self-Expression: Helps teens find their voice and navigate challenging situations through playful exploration.• Performance: Our 10-week class session will culminate in an improv show to demonstrate skills learned and ability to make up a show right before the audience’s eyes in the Large Meeting Room at the Franklin Rec Center on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.(Note: Class will not meet October 13.)
Participants should bring a labeled water bottle to class each week.
There is a $25 sibling discount (after first child) if siblings register in the same transaction.
Each new participant gets a troupe t-shirt.
Refund/credit/transfers must be processed through Alison Worden (alison.worden@williamsoncounty-tn.gov) a minimum of 48 hours prior to the first class session.
