Join Esther and her service dog Coco as we work to strengthen and reinforce basic writing mechanics while reviewing grammar skills and applying them to descriptive sentence writing. As their vocabulary grows, students learn to choose vivid, expressive words that bring their ideas to life. Through the writing process, they develop strong paragraph-writing skills and learn how to organize and communicate their thoughts clearly and creatively. Students are introduced to standard outlining and continue building their use of descriptive language, grammar, and figures of speech. They also learn how to use language to paint clear pictures for their readers resulting in more engaging and well-written paragraphs. Creative grammar and figurative language skills are further developed through both poetry and paragraph writing. Students will have a portfolio to show evidence of learning at the end of the class.
