About This Activity
Description
Hike to Maryland’s largest cascading waterfall on a 3.5-mile loop through the Catoctin Mountains. Teens ages 13-17 will explore forest ecology, mountain geology, and wildlife signs along the trail.
Please meet at the Walkersville Recreation Center; transportation to and from the hike is included.
Bring a packed lunch, snacks, and water. Wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather.
Secondary pickup and drop off location: Thurmont Recreation Center. If you would like your teen to be picked up and dropped off at the Thurmont Recreation Center for this hike, please reach out directly to the Teen Program Recreation Specialist after registering at vanderson1@frederickcountymd.gov or by phone at 240-931-8252.
