This informal interactive workshop introduces youth (ages 14–18) to the fundamentals of storytelling with a focus on story structure, genre, and character development. Discussions will explore popular books, film, and television to demonstrate how compelling stories are built and how to apply these techniques to the students’ own ideas or works-in-progress. Participants will be invited to share their ideas, ask questions, and, if they choose, present their work in a supportive environment to receive thoughtful, constructive feedback. The workshop will also introduce publishing pathways, helping students understand how stories move from idea to finished work.
