About This Activity
MUSICAL IMPROVISATION LOCATION: Upper School Classroom GRADES: High School DESCRIPTION: Throughout the week, we will explore a range of improvisational approaches. Some of the activities will include call-and-response pieces using voices, clapping, and shakers; experimental, structured improvisational scores from the 20th Century; and composing text-based scores. If you are interested in music, this term project can help you expand your boundaries. No experience is necessary. All that is needed is openness and curiosity about sound and music. For those who do already play an instrument or sing, great! You are welcome, too.
