About This Activity

Six IN-PERSON Sessions Required Course Supplies: Participants will need to purchase, on their own, a copy of The Artist's Way: 30th Anniversary Edition and a journal of their choosing prior to the first class session. September 18, 25, October 2, 16, 23, 30 "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron is a classic text on creativity. What is it? Who has it? How can I recover it when I am blocked? It has helped tens of thousands of people develop their creative selves. In this course, we will go on a guided journey through the first half of Cameron's text. The class is an accountability group where students can share their frustrations, questions, and stories of success, and build a community of artists. We will read the first half of the text, go on Artist's Dates, write Morning Pages, and complete the exercises and assignments. This is a course for everyone exploring their creative talents and skills no matter their stage of life. The course covering the second half of the book will be offered during the Winter 2026 BULLI session. Linda Martin is an award-winning librarian and storyteller who has spent her life chasing her creative outlets. They manifest in the forms of storytelling, jewelry creation, cooking, sewing, and music. Her recent retirement from her library career has allowed her to dive deeply into her creative life, while exploring creative outlets with her grandson, Ezra. Linda volunteers with her therapy dog Elsie and jams with the ukulele group at the North Hall Library.
