About This Activity

Six IN-PERSON Sessions Great Decisions Briefing Book Fee: $35 March 17, 24, 31, April 7, 14, 21 2:00 p.m. – 3:15 p.m. Since 1954, the Great Decisions Program has encouraged discussion and debate about the important global challenges of our time. We'll use video and written materials provided by the Foreign Policy Association to discuss and reach informed opinions about this year’s topics: America’s Global Role, Trump’s Tariffs, U.S.-China Relations, Today’s Nuclear Age, Ukraine and European Security, Multilateral Institutions, U.S. Engagement of Africa, and The Future of Human Rights. Course participants will have the opportunity to choose six topics from the above list to discuss in class. Note: The cost for the Great Decisions briefing book used in this course is $35. The book fee is due at the time of course registration. Prior to the first class session, Course participants will be notified when they can come to the Center for Lifetime Study/BULLI Offices to pick up their copy of the Great Decisions briefing book. Leo Whalen holds a BS in Chemistry from Case Institute of Technology and spent his entire professional career in the tire and rubber industries. Leo retired from Barbe America Inc. in 2000. He has been a BULLI member for 20+ years and has taught several past BULLI courses focused on science.
