About This Activity
Description
Instructional program for boys ages 13 and 14 which encourages healthy lifestyle habits through participation in athletic events. Events include 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1600 meter runs; softball shot put throw; standing long jump and javelin throw. Teams will be formed through neighborhood elementary and middle schools. There will be 5 meets on Fridays (dates and locations are subject to change based on MCPS high school track availability). Coaches are volunteer parents, and practices are held once a week. First meeting for players, coaches and parents will be 6 p.m. Friday, April 10 at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park. Weeknight practices start the week of April 13. First meet is April 17 and concludes May 15. Make-up date is May 29.
