Description
Instructional program for girls ages 13 and 14 which encourages healthy lifestyle habits through participation in athletic events. Events include 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1600 meter runs; softball shot put throw; standing long jump and javelin throw. Teams will be formed through neighborhood elementary and middle schools. There will be 5 meets on Fridays (dates and locations are subject to change based on MCPS high school track availability). Practices are held once a week. Coaches are volunteer parents. First meeting for players, coaches and parents will be 6 p.m. Friday, April 11 at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park. Weeknight practices start the week of April 21. First meet is April 25 and concludes May 30. Make-up date is June 6.
