Description
Instructional program for girls ages 7 and 8 which encourages healthy lifestyle habits through participation in athletic events. Events include 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1600 meter runs; softball shot put throw; standing long jump and javelin throw. Teams will be formed through neighborhood elementary and middle schools. There will be 5 meets on Fridays (dates and locations are subject to change based on MCPS high school track availability). Coaches are volunteer parents, and practices are held once a week. First meeting for players, coaches and parents will be 6 p.m. Friday, April 10 at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park. Weeknight practices start the week of April 13. First meet is April 17 and concludes May 15. Make-up date is May 29.
