Residential (or sleep away, or overnight) Camp at Latona brings adventure fun and spirit to outdoor life! We welcome new and returning families every summer for their summer session. With COVID restrictions in place only a small number of campers will be onsite. STEAM Camp offers campers the opportunity to use their creativity as the use science, engineering, arts, and math to solve hands on problems in the Camp setting. Some of the skills campers will learn include how to build a solar oven, cross bow, canoe and learn the role chemistry has is changing the colour of the fire. We provide a home away from home for campers who want have the excitement of camp, with a personalized experience. Our small size, and high, 1:4 staff to camper ratio enables the development of unique, relationships, truly characteristic of the Latona experience. Campers are grouped by age and by gender into their small groups. With their counsellors, your children will experience living as part of a community, encouraging the formation and development of transferrable life skills. While of course enjoying a full range of outdoor, land and water based activities. Our Activity Specialists and Counsellors are certified, qualified and trained to deliver excellence in programming, at our activities, and for emotional and mental well being of our campers. Each week, all of our campers take scheduled, supervised trips by land and sea into the beautiful Howe Sound. These trips are truly "as Real as it Gets!" where real outdoor wilderness skills are developed and put into practice. Campers are led in leave no trace camping principles, where often the best memories are made.
