About This Activity

In Advanced Minecraft mods, the only limit is your own creativity! In this class students will create more advanced Minecraft mods. Students will learn about how to implement game design concepts to improve player enjoyment and create balanced game environments. At the same time, we will be modifying Minecraft in exciting ways and adding new original features into the game. It is a prerequisite of this class to have experience using MCreator either through a previous Newton’s Attic class or through personal use. Students will also learn how to share their mods with friends and play modded Minecraft together. If students are interested in this feature, they must own Minecraft - Java Edition. This is not a requirement for the class, though it is recommended. The Minecraft account is used for them to play the mods outside of class. To create an account, you can register at https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/store/minecraft-java-bedrock-edition-pc. You can also purchase the game at any major retail/game store. Make sure that you are purchasing the Java version of the account, and not the console or bedrock version. If students would like to work on code outside of class, they should bring a flash drive to save their work.
