YOU MUST AUDITION TO BE CAST IN THE SHOW! All who audition will be cast in the show.If you want to change your audition time or want to be taken out of your audition slot, please contact cacoordinator@gepark.org as soon as possible so that we can accomodate others that want to audition.
If you cannot make your audition time due to last minute emergencies/illness, please contact aaubie@gepark.org to inquire about a video audition. Video auditions are due by 8:00pm on January 14.
Chameleon Theatre Productions is a recreational theatre program that creates quality theatre programs with young actors. Participants observe the process of producing a show from start to finish, learn songs and dance routines, create props, and more.
This season’s production, Frozen Jr. is based on the 2018 Broadway musical, and brings Elsa, Anna, and the magical land of Arendelle to life, onstage. A story of true love and acceptance between sisters, Frozen Jr. expands upon the emotional relationship and journey between Princesses Anna and Elsa. When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood. With a cast of beloved characters and loaded with magic, adventure, and plenty of humor, Frozen Jr. is sure to thaw even the coldest heart! (Music Theatre International).
Not an actor, but still want to participate? Volunteers are needed to help build sets, create costumes, and more. If you are interested, email aaubie@gepark.org.
Auditions:January 12 and January 14 at Spring Avenue Recreation Center. Registration is required and can be completed online at gepark.org/register (type “Disney’s Frozen Jr.” into the Activity Search Bar). There is no fee to audition.
Callbacks:
January 15 at Spring Avenue Recreation Center. Only select actors will be called back for an additional audition to help cast them better. Time slots will be communicated via email by the end of the day on January 14.
Casting & Participation Fee:All who are cast after auditions must pay a participation fee ($400 for residents, $425 for nonresidents) prior to the first rehearsal. Fee includes a t-shirt and cast party after the show. Costumes will need to be provided by participants closer to the performances.
Rehearsals:January 21 to April 22 at Spring Avenue Recreation Center from 5:30pm-8pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. Additional dance calls will take place on 2-3 Saturdays during the production process and will be communicated well in advance. A call sheet will be sent out weekly. Tech week will take place from April 27-29 from 5pm-8pm at the theatre and will require all actors. A meeting for adults/caregivers and the cast will be scheduled after rehearsals begin.
Performances:Thursday, April 30 through Sunday, May 3. Tickets will be sold at an additional cost.
