The tackle and girls flag football programs participate in the Bill George Youth Football League (www.bgyfl.org). Players learn and develop the fundamentals of football, teamwork, sportsmanship and leadership in a supervised, organized and safe environment.This is a travel league that plays teams from surrounding suburbs. The girls flag program begins practice the first week of August and the season ends in early November. Teams practice multiple days a week throughout the season. Games are played on weekends at Newton Park and in surrounding communities.
Girls flag football teams are built based on age, ability, and experience. Coaching candidates are encouraged to apply. Additional details are available online at the Glen Ellyn Golden Eagles website at www.glenellynfootball.com.
Registration Deadline: June 1
Teams are filled on a first-come basis however, the BGYFL limits roster sizes and registration will close early if maximum roster sizes are reached.
Players required to wear mouthguard and Halo type or soft cap helmet during practices and games. Both options are available to players and will be provided to participants.
