This class is designed for the older beginner looking to start piano lessons in a fun, interactive setting, or students who have completed the Beginner 1 curriculum. Beginner 2 lessons start with a quick review of the Beginner 1 curriculum and continues with learning to read the treble and bass clef, play songs with both hands, and learn to play scales. Through fun games, age-appropriate teaching methods and group learning dynamics, students are inspired to discover the joy in making music at the piano. Our young musicicians will discover reading notes on the staff, as they count and play to the beat. After completion of Beginner 2 classes, students will graduate to private or semi-private lessons, or may prefer to repeat another session of this dynamic learning experience. Students must be in 3rd-5th grade or have completed Beginner 1 to enroll. An iPad is helpful but not necessary for additional at-home practice. A $30 materials fee is due the first day of class.
