For the older beginner looking to start piano lessons in a fun, interactive setting, or students who have completed the Beginner 1 curriculum, Beginner 2 lessons start with a quick review of the Beginner 1 curriculum and continue with learning to read the treble and bass clef, play songs with both hands, and play scales. Through fun games, age-appropriate teaching methods, and group learning dynamics, students are inspired to discover the joy of making music at the piano. Our young musicians will discover how to read notes on the staff as they count and play to the beat. After completion of Beginner 2 classes, students will graduate to private or semi-private lessons or may prefer to repeat another session of this dynamic learning experience. Students must be in 3rd through 5th grade or have completed Beginner 1 to enroll. An iPad is helpful but not necessary for additional at-home practice. A one-time, $30 materials fee is due the first day of class and covers all materials used for the school year. ALL GROUP LESSON students will showcase their progress in a recital Monday March 22 at the Lake Ellyn Boathouse. A $20 recital fee is included in tuition.
