Summer Smash Grass Volleyball Tournament
Glen Ellyn Park District will host the Summer Smash Grass Volleyball tournament on Saturday, July 26th. This one-day tournament will be held at Ackerman Park on the wide-open grass outfields of our softball fields 5 and 6. The tournament will be a Triples format for adults in both men's and women's A, BB, B/Recreational level divisions as well as separate youth divisions for boys and girls ages 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U.Registration Deadline: Saturday, July 21
This will be a great tournament for youth players and anyone A level and below.
Youth Divisions
- Age based on USAV Age Chart for 2025-2026 Season.
- 2026 High School graduates are eligible to play in Adult or 18U divisions but not both.
General Information
- Team Registration Only
- Register as team and list up to 3 additional players with their email address. Tournament waiver will be sent to players to complete before the tournament.
- Specific tournament rules will be emailed to registered team captain a minimum of 2 weeks prior to tournament.
- Players may only compete in one division during the tournament.
- Maximum of 4 players per roster.
- Space is limited to 8 teams per division. May be expended depending on overall tournament registration
- Captain meeting at 8:45 am. First round of pool play starts at 9 am.
- Each team will play 3 matches in pool play and at least 1 playoff round.
- Pool play is 2 sets to 21. Switch sides every 7 points.
- All teams make play-offs. Seeding based on pool play finish.
- Any play-in games and quarterfinal round of play-off games will be 1 set to 25 points. Semi-finals and finals will be 2 of 3 (25, 25 and 15)
- Ackerman has lights so no worry about poor lighting conditions if the tournament goes long.
- Prizes awarded to champions and runners up in bracket play.
- Open/AA - Former/current NCAA, NAIA and college club players on roster, competitive players, high level of volleyball
- A - Former/current NCAA, NAIA and college club players, former junior club and high school players may be on the roster, high level of volleyball but just below Open/AA division
- BB/B - Primarily former high school and junior club players on roster.
