Music Composition Workshop Dates: June 2-6 Times: M - F | 9:15 AM - 11:15 AM (to 11:45 AM on Friday, June 6 only) Cost: $175 Capacity: 5-6 students Age/Grade: entering 5th-12th grade in Fall 2025 Music Composition Workshop 2025 is for students who not only love performing music, but seek to better understand how composers create great music, learn how to compose their own music using programs like MuseScore and GarageBand, and try out jazz improvisation. On Friday, June 6 there will be a showcase from 11:15-11:45am. Music Composition Workshop 2025 will include: • Overview of the basic components of music composition and major time periods of music history • Introduction to using digital notation programs like MuseScore and Sibelius and digital audio workspaces like GarageBand • Jazz improvisation • Additional time to work on and compose your own music *returning students are welcome to re-enroll and expand on skills and compositions from summer 2024! • Music composition showcase for family, friends and fellow classmates to present their music compositions for each other and jam together on a D major blues.
