Grades 3rd - 6th & an Adult. Please register in the child’s name. Ready to turn fresh-picked veggies into fast, flavorful meals? Bring your child and join community farm chef and Japanese native Kori Kanayama at her farm in Grass Lake for a hands-on stir-fry adventure you can recreate all summer long! You’ll learn simple techniques, seasoning basics, and flexible recipes you can easily adapt to whatever is in season — or whatever is in your fridge.
The experience begins at Kori’s Grass Lake farmstead, where participants will harvest available seasonal produce, greens, and herbs right from the garden. Then head into the farm kitchen to cook your harvest just minutes after picking — it doesn’t get fresher than that! Along the way, you’ll gain confidence using high-heat cooking and learn how to build quick, healthy weeknight meals together.
If you have one, please bring a wok or large frying pan suitable for high heat. Instructor: Kori Kanayama. 1 class. Register a second child for $59. Rain date Thursday, July 2nd for Thursday class and Saturday, July 11th for the Saturday class.
Residents in the AAPS district boundaries ages 65+ may be eligible for a 25% discount off one class per term. Registration must be completed over the phone (734) 994-2300 ext. 0, Monday-Friday between 8am-5pm. Please click on the following link for more information: Senior Adult Discount Policy
