Girls Volleyball Camp $250.00 Rising 6-8 grade July 19-23 8:30-2:00 Led by Coach Kate López, Coach Chris Nazario and players of the GDS varsity volleyball team. Players attending this camp will start by learning and reviewing the fundamentals of passing, setting, hitting, and serving. Players in rising 6th through 8th grade will participate in many skill-building drills to help improve their form and perfect their technique. Position training and higher-level drills will also be incorporated to challenge players with more advanced skill sets. Throughout the week, we will progress to working on game play through scrimmages. This is intended to prepare the girls for their upcoming middle school volleyball season in the fall. Whether your girl wants to play for her school team or is just interested in learning what this sport is all about, we would love to have her! Please have your child wear athletic clothing and closed-toed shoes. They will need to bring volleyball knee pads and a water bottle. Kate Lopez grew up in Connecticut playing volleyball as mainly an outside hitter in both high school and college. Lopez then went on to play at Division I Central Connecticut State University on scholarship earning the title of Captain. She graduated from CCSU in 2008 with her Bachelors degree. As Head Coach for the 2018 season the GDS volleyball team finished tying for 3rd in the conference with an overall record of 11-11.
