About This Activity

Students will learn how to generate entire programs in their coding language of choice to develop websites, apps, and even games. Languages include HTML/CSS, Python, C#, JavaScript, and any others they are interested in. This isn't a drag-and-drop coding system like Scratch! Be ready to learn how to "speak computer" and create something uniquely yours! This will be broken into two main skill levels; Guided and Independent. During guided, you will be guided through the HTML/CSS coding language to start learning the importance of syntax, documentation, and debugging codes. At the end, you will have a certification in Responsive Web Design that can be used when applying to college programs and/or careers to make you look even more skilled than the competition. During independent, students will have free reign to chose a language to get certified in and create a product using that language and any others. They will also learn proper documentation procedures, debugging procedures, and commenting procedures to ensure their code is easy to understand and repair as needed. Even though it says independent, there will be assistance and guidance during the week at all times!
