About This Activity
This camp is for anyone from grades K-7 who knows the fundamentals of chess and routinely plays matches. Specific playing strategies will be taught and practiced with the goal of learning 1-2 daily. The campers will play against each other, Richard Imbimbo, and upper school volunteers. The highlight of the week will be a tournament played with seeding brackets and time clocks. The campers will continue to develop their skills within a supportive and relaxed environment. In addition to playing chess, there will be plenty of time for other activities, such as games, outdoor playtime and snacking. This camp provides an excellent transition into the Middle School 's weekly chess club held during the academic year. This camp will be held twice (June 8-12 and August 3-7.
