About This Activity
Storybook Summer Camp is a week-long literacy and creativity adventure! Each day centers around a new theme and engaging story that sparks imagination and hands-on exploration. Interactive Read-Alouds We’ll begin each morning with an energetic, discussion-based read-aloud. Campers will predict, act out scenes, answer fun comprehension questions, and connect the story to their own experiences. Creative Crafts & Art Projects Children will create themed crafts connected to the day’s book, such as designing crowns on Fairytale Day, building animal masks during Animal Adventure Day, or creating their own superhero identity and emblem. Movement & Drama Activities Campers won’t just sit and listen, they’ll move! We’ll incorporate story-based games, simple skits, scavenger hunts, obstacle courses, and imaginative play to keep energy high and bodies active. Writing & Story Creation (Age-Appropriate) Students will participate in guided mini-writing activities, such as: drawing and labeling their own story characters, creating a simple beginning-middle-end story and designing and illustrating a mini book to take home.
