Instructor: Stacey Peters Skill Level: Any Level Ages: 15+ Medium: Watercolors Total Class Hours: 2 Description: As the leaves begin to change, slow down and enjoy a relaxing watercolor exploration inspired by the colors and textures of autumn. In this process-based class, students will use a simple leaf as the foundation for experimenting with flowing watercolor pigments, shimmering Aurora colors, and the beautiful textures created by water and salt. Rather than focusing on creating a perfect painting, we'll explore color mixing, wet-on-wet techniques, and the natural movement of watercolor across the paper. Students are encouraged to follow their curiosity, observe how pigments interact, and enjoy the unexpected effects that emerge throughout the painting process. This class is open to all skill levels and emphasizes exploration over perfection. With gentle guidance and plenty of time to experiment, participants will gain confidence working with watercolor while discovering a calming creative practice they can revisit throughout the season. Participants will leave with a seasonal watercolor painting created on professional-quality watercolor paper, along with a deeper understanding of watercolor techniques and the beauty of allowing the medium to behave naturally.
