Instructor: Edwina Shannon Skill Level: Beginner Medium: Lettering / Calligraphy Total Class Hours: 6 Description: In this two-class lettering class, the emphasis is on the "feeling" of letters and understanding how structure influences mood. No proper letterform is taught. Instead, students will be introduced to letter structure and how each structure changes the feel of the phrase/word. We will sketch and play with a pencil first. Then, students will create background colors and patterns using abstract or realistic marks in acrylic paint or markers. An adult must accompany all students under the age of 15.
