Instructor: Matt Andrews Skill Level: Beginner Ages: 8+ Medium: Watercolors Total Class Hours: 3 Description: Learn to use gouache (opaque watercolors) by translating light, form, and color of the 3D world into 2D paintings. Gouache is a medium where the amount of water mixed with the paint controls the transparency/opacity. Get direction on how to control colors wet vs dry, mix as true-to-life as possible, paint without the use of photographs, and preserve your work. With primaries, white, and a darker earth tone, you can achieve an enormous array of colors with a limited amount of individual pigments. Discover how portable a gouache setup can be and why it's perfect for a travel art kit.
