Instructor: Jillian Barnett Skill Level: Any Level Ages: 13-18 Medium: Art Club Total Class Hours: 1 each Description: Teen Open Studio is a space created for teenagers for summer art instruction led by a certified art educator. It offers a calm, accessible, and welcoming environment for students to practice art skills tailored to each student’s needs and goals. If your student is considering applying for FINE ARTS CENTER, GOVERNOR’S SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS AND HUMANITIES, taking an ADVANCED PLACEMENT class or applying for UNIVERSITY, this is the class to attend! Teen Open Studio takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. Attend the class whenever you can and pay for each class. Goals: - Provide a space for teenagers to attend group art instruction and work on their own projects; students will receive guidance from an experienced art educator. - Provide guided instruction for art skills based on student needs. - Provide materials and accessible scheduling and pricing for teenagers. - Provide feedback and offer guidance for in-progress artwork. - Provide valuable exercises for brainstorming and continuing a series. Instructor Credentials: - South Carolina Certified Art Teacher of 6 years (Middle and High School) with degrees in Art Education, Painting and Drawing, and a Master's in Education - Advanced Placement Studio Art Certified, Gifted and Talented Endorsed - Greenville native and Fine Arts Center Graduate Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jillbarnart/ Supplies: Please bring the project you are working on and the supplies needed.
