The first day focuses on the process of building layered imagery through collage and jelly plate printing. On the second day, students will mount their pieces onto wood panels and learn how to work with encaustic wax to seal, layer, and enhance their compositions. The result is an abstracted work that blurs the line between painting, printmaking, and collage. This class offers an accessible introduction to encaustic processes, image-making, and mixed-media experimentation—perfect for artists ages 14 and up. All materials will be provided; just bring a color laser print with an image that means something to you.
