About This Activity

Please note, Oceans and Science camps are on Studley Campus and Engineering and Space camps are on Sexton Campus. Version A and Version B have different camp content. Science: SuperNOVA’s science camp is chock-full of exciting experiments and discoveries that campers can experience in a hands-on capacity. Campers will discover the role of science in every day life through projects, activities and demonstrations in physics, biology and chemistry. Engineering: Campers get to do exciting hands-on engineering projects and activities that show how the diversity of engineering fields! Through a series of high quality designing and building projects campers work in teams to investigate the exciting world of engineering. SuperNOVA's engineering program is a completely new experience every year. Oceans: Did you know that Dalhousie University is a global leader in Ocean research? Our Oceans program will dive deep into the exciting science, engineering, and technology behind the latest discoveries. Campers will investigate amazing careers involved in exploring, understanding, and protecting Earth's last frontier through unique hands-on activities, behind-the-scenes lab tours, and special visits with some of the inspiring minds who are making waves in Oceans and Marine Biology. Space & Exploration: In SuperNOVA's Space & Exploration program, campers will be exposed to the science and technology behind the exploration of space. Campers will have the opportunity to do exciting hands-on activities in physics, atmospheric science, astronomy, and engineering concepts! All SuperNOVA instructors are trained in First Aid and WHMIS, and will complete safety training for COVID-19 measures. SuperNOVA has worked with Dalhousie to create a safe environment, including social distancing and sanitization measures. 13 youth per session; 2 instructors [total of 15 per group]
