Become a Leader in Training (LIT) this summer! Leaders will spend their summer leading/playing fun games and activities, interacting with campers, and learning important skills to become an effective leader. Each LIT will be paired with a mentor at their location.
Please read the information below to fully understand our LIT program prior to enrolling. Registration opens March 9 at 8pm.Ages: 14-15 or entering grades 9 or 10 in Fall of 2026
Mandatory Program Dates:Program Overview: May 6 or May 14 at the CREC from 6-7:30pmLIT Evaluation: June 18 at the CREC at 10am
Program Requirements:
- LITs must have completed 8th grade by Summer 2026
- Resident of Haverford Township
- You must be available for a minimum of three (3) consecutive weeks between June 22 and July 30
- Must attend one of the Program Overview dates in order to be considered to continue with the program.
- LITs are assigned 12-15 hours per week, in the morning or afternoon, for a minimum of three consecutive weeks at a Township camp location.
- Summer Session 1 Weeks: (June 22 - July 10)
- Summer Session 2 Weeks: (July 13 - July 30)
- LITs are NOT paid; this is a leadership training program.
- Summer camp locations take a limited number of LITs.
- Following Program Overview dates, all participants will be contacted via email on June 4 to notify them if they are accepted into the program.
- Accepted participants have a mandatory LIT Evaluation on Thursday, June 18 at the CREC at 10am.
- There are no refunds after May 1.
Registration Process and Evaluation for the Leaders in Training Program:
- Create your student's account on your Family Account
- Enroll for the program based on Summer Session 1 or Summer Session 2 and one (1) ideal location for placement.
- Select if your student is New or Returning to the program
- Complete the Get to Know You questions below
- Select the Mandatory Program Overview date your student will attend
- Sign the Waiver understanding the commitment and needs for this program by the student and parent/guardian
- Enroll and Pay
Refund Policy: There are no refunds for the Leaders in Training Program after May 1
Get to Know You Questions: (Be prepared to answer during registration)

- Are you New to the program or a Returning LIT?

- What grade are you going into next year?
- What extra-curricular, youth sports, or service groups do you participate in (i.e. sports, drama, scouts, band)?

- Please select the date to attend the Program Overview. Note: It is Mandatory to attend one of the dates below in order to continue with the program. (May 6 at 6pm at the CREC or May 14 at 6pm at the CREC)
