About This Activity
Description
Aikido “The Way of Harmony” is a martial and self-defense art developed in Japan in the early 1900’s. It is non-violent, dynamic and fun! Aikido teaches how to find a peaceful resolution to the most common forms of conflict. The instructor for the classes, Chris King, holds a second degree blackbelt in Aikido and has been teaching Aikido for children for the past 15 years. These classes will introduce basic movements, exercises and games of Aikido. Students will learn to develop self-discipline, focus and self-esteem while also improving balance, coordination and confidence. In addition, we will address issues of personal safety and bullying. The classes are open to children of all sizes and abilities ages 5 to 15 years old.Instructor Bio
