About This Activity
Take your digital art to the next level in this exciting 8-week animation course using Procreate Dreams! Designed for students who are already comfortable with digital drawing, this class is a crash course in creating an animated film from start to finish. Students will learn the fundamentals of animation, including keyframes, tweening, impact frames, smear frames, lip syncing, and action animation. They'll also explore storyboarding, visual storytelling, script writing, and character, background, and set design as they develop their own original animated project. By the end of the session, students will complete a 30-second animated short with custom audio. Those who prefer can instead create two or three 10-second mini animations inspired by creative prompts. If time allows, students will add color, clean-up work, and final polish to their animations. Please note: students should already be familiar with Procreate, as we'll be drawing in Procreate and animating in Procreate Dreams. iPads and Apple Pencils are provided by the MACC, though students are welcome to bring their own.
