
Instructor: James Hendricks This fun and friendly class helps young artists discover the joy of making art! Students will explore a variety of materials like crayons, markers, acrylic paint, and clay, while learning how to use them in creative ways. Through playful, hands-on projects, they'll build confidence and practice important skills like drawing, coloring, painting, and shaping clay. In this class, students will: • Learn basic art elements: line, shape, color, and texture • Try simple techniques for drawing, painting, and clay • Build fine motor skills and grow their creativity through cutting, coloring, and hands- on play that also helps build patience, collaboration and problem-solving. • Learning to “look like an artist” by observing shapes, lines, and details in the world around them to improve drawing and creativity. Example Projects: • Animal, landscape & still life paintings and drawings. • Colorful paper collages • Clay sculptures.
