About This Activity

Instructor: Derris Dabbs Step into the exciting world of digital creativity in this beginner to intermediate class designed for ages 9 and up! Whether you're just starting out or looking to build on your skills, this class offers a fun, hands-on introduction to making art with digital tools. Students will explore the fundamentals of digital drawing and design using iPads and Procreate, learning to transform their ideas into vibrant digital masterpieces. Students will learn to: • Use Procreate and iPad tools confidently • Create artwork using layers and various brushes • Apply color theory and shading techniques digitally • Experiment with textures and special effects • Develop original characters and design elements • Build a personal digital art style This class encourages creativity and confidence, empowering young artists to express their unique vision while growing their technical abilities. By the end of the course, students will have a portfolio of original digital artworks to share and celebrate! iPads and Apple Pencils are provided by the MACC, though students are welcome to bring their own. This class runs in 6-week sessions. Returning students will continue to advance their skills with new challenges and projects each time!
