Get hands-on with polymer clay and air dry clay in this creative sculpting class! Students will explore two exciting directions in clay work: functional items like jewelry and keychains, and mini characters and creatures inspired by imagination and observation. On the functional side, students will design and create wearable and giftable pieces, learning how to shape, finish, and assemble jewelry and keychains from start to finish. On the sculptural side, students will dive into building mini characters and creatures, focusing on anatomy, proportions, and texture to bring their creations to life with personality and detail. Through both projects, students will build core hand-sculpting skills and gain experience working with two distinct types of clay, each with its own properties and creative possibilities. By the end of the class, students will have a collection of finished pieces — both functional and imaginative — along with a stronger foundation in three-dimensional art.
