Instructor: Anna Grayson Discover the art of portrait drawing in this course designed for ages 11 and up. This course will guide students through the process of creating lifelike portraits. Over four weeks, students will learn facial proportions, how to draw from a grid, facial characteristics, value, and develop their personal style to be able to draw realistic characteristics of a portrait. Through hands-on practice and personalized feedback, students will gain confidence and unlock their artistic potential. Week 1: Review drawing materials, facial proportions, composition, value, and grid drawings. Week 2: How to draw facial characteristics (eyes, nose, mouth, varying expressions, etc.). Week 3: How to draw facial characteristics (practicing hair, skin texture, value, etc. while building on characteristics from the week before). Week 4: Adding value and final details to portraits. Please note: If desired, students can email a good quality pictures of a person they would like to reference while drawing. Otherwise, many other reference images will be provided.
