About This Activity
Instructor: Dr. Priscilla Eichler Dive into a world of creativity in this hands-on mixed media art class for kids ages 5–8! Young artists will combine painting, drawing, collage, and more to create exciting, layered works of art. Each session introduces new materials and techniques, sparking curiosity and building confidence as kids explore textures, colors, and composition. This class is perfect for budding artists who love to experiment and express themselves through art. With plenty of room for imagination and fun, every masterpiece is as unique as the child who creates it! No experience necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and a readiness to make art magic happen! Students will pursue the following learning objectives: Will explore Line. Will explore color (color wheel) Will explore shapes (organic and inorganic) Will explore texture. Will explore forms. Will explore emphasis, pattern, and balance. Will explore concepts (could include, but not limited to landscape, portraits, creatures, still life and historical landmarks). Will explore realistic and abstract ideas.
