About This Activity
Instructor: Derris Dabbs Animate Your Imagination! Bring your stories to life in this 6-week digital animation class designed for ages 9–13! Budding animators will learn the fundamentals of digital animation, from character design and storyboarding to the magic of creating movement frame by frame. Using Procreate’s animation tools, students will transform their creative ideas into exciting animated sequences. Throughout the class, they’ll design original characters, plan out their stories, and develop short animations that showcase their unique style and imagination. Perfect for beginners, this class encourages experimentation, storytelling, and creative problem-solving while introducing students to the world of digital animation in a fun, supportive environment. • Design and develop original characters • Understand the basics of frame-by-frame movement • Use layers, brushes, and animation tools in Procreate • Add color, effects, and personality to their animations • Share and present their finished animated projects iPads and Apple Pencils are provided by the MACC, though students are welcome to bring their own.
