About This Activity
Instructor: Derris Dabbs Create Your Own Digital Comic! Unleash your imagination in this 6-week Digital Comic Creation class designed for students ages 10–14! Whether you’re inspired by superheroes, fantasy adventures, or everyday life stories, this course will guide you through the exciting process of turning your ideas into a fully realized digital comic. Students will dive into the world of visual storytelling, learning to develop unique characters, craft dynamic panel layouts, and build engaging narratives. Using iPads and Procreate, they’ll practice essential comic techniques such as sketching, inking, coloring, and adding special effects — all in a fun and supportive environment. By the end of the class, each student will have their own original short digital comic to share and celebrate, highlighting both their artistic and storytelling talents. iPads and Apple Pencils are provided by the MACC, though you’re welcome to bring your own.
