About This Activity
Got the basics down and ready to take your designs to the next level? This class is built for students who already have some 3D printing experience and want to grow beyond beginner projects. Prior enrollment in an intro class isn't required — but students should already be comfortable with basic 3D design concepts and terminology. This hands-on, project-based class introduces more complex builds and real design challenges. Students will expand their CAD skills while working on projects like articulated objects, multi-part assemblies, and customized creations — learning to refine details, improve functionality, and problem-solve like real designers and engineers. Along the way, students will dig deeper into the "why" behind the print: how design choices affect strength, movement, and overall print quality. Through creative experimentation and independent thinking, students will leave with stronger CAD skills, sharper engineering instincts, and a collection of printed projects that reflect real design growth.
