About This Activity
Ever wanted to make your own movie? In this exciting hands-on filmmaking class, students will develop an original movie idea and bring it to life from the first spark of inspiration to the final cut! Working together as a filmmaking team, students will brainstorm their own story, write the script, and create a finished film starring themselves. With guidance from industry filmmaking professionals, students will gain real-world experience in screenwriting, acting, directing, camera work, and all the creative teamwork that goes into making a movie. From developing characters and scenes to filming and editing, every student will have a role in bringing their original story to the screen. It’s a fun, collaborative experience where students get to be creative, work as a team, and discover what it takes to make a movie from start to finish. And the best part? Students will wrap up the class with a special screening of their completed film!
