Instructor: Anna Grayson This high-contrast session focuses on value, shading, and the power of working without color. Students will explore how to create depth, drama, and realism using only black, white, and the grayscale in between. We’ll experiment with graphite, charcoal, ink, and other monochromatic materials to better understand light, shadow, texture, and composition. Through fun and focused projects, students will learn how to make their drawings stand out—without ever picking up a color. In this 4-week session, students will: *Practice shading and value techniques *Learn how to draw realistic light and shadow *Use different black-and-white materials (pencil, charcoal, ink) Create dynamic drawings with a strong focus on contrast and form A great session for building technical skills and gaining confidence in foundational drawing tools!
