About This Activity
Unleash your imagination in this 8-week Digital Comic Creation class designed for students ages 9–12! Whether you're inspired by superheroes, fantasy adventures, or everyday life stories, this course will guide you through the process of turning your ideas into a fully realized digital comic. Students will dive into the world of visual storytelling, learning to develop unique characters, craft dynamic panel layouts, and build engaging narratives. Using iPads and Procreate, they'll practice essential comic techniques — sketching, inking, coloring, and adding special effects. By the end of the class, each student will have created their own original short digital comic to share, showcasing both their artistic and storytelling talents. In subsequent sessions, students will continue to build on to their comic or create a new one. iPads and Apple Pencils are provided by the MACC, though students are welcome to bring their own.
