About This Activity
“I can’t draw” is often an idea internalized at a young age and is an unnecessary conclusion of past experiences. This class will demystify the process of learning to draw and help students develop the ability to see an object broken down into visual parts which they will learn to reconstruct into a realistic representation. As Bob Ross states, “Talent is just interest pursued,” and this class will provide the environment in which a developing artist can explore and develop confidence in his or her abilities. Goals: Understand how complex images can be built from simple shapes and lines; Improve observation, proportion, and placement; Use a sketchbook as a creative tool for practice and experimentation; Track artistic progress over time; Complete finished drawings with confidence.
