Instructor: Kathryn Garcia Calling all book lovers and creative kids! In this imaginative summer camp, stories leap off the page and into amazing works of art. Each day, we’ll explore a different favorite children’s book and use it as inspiration for hands-on art projects. Campers will paint magical settings inspired by books like Where the Wild Things Are, create colorful character art inspired by The Day the Crayons Quit, design whimsical worlds like those in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and maybe even craft their own imaginative creatures after reading Dragons Love Tacos. Using a variety of materials—paint, collage, clay, drawing, and mixed media—kids will build storytelling skills while growing their artistic confidence. Perfect for imaginative readers and budding artists alike, this camp celebrates creativity, curiosity, and the magic that happens when art and stories come together! On the final day of camp, we invite parents to a special reception to celebrate their young artists and to see the work your children have created throughout the week.
