Instructor: Cain & Cyle Barnes Oops!!! That wasn’t supposed to happen… or was it?! "I spilled paint on my picture! Now I have to throw it away!" Not so fast! In this class, students will be shown how to embrace mistakes—on purpose! They'll experiment with creative "accidents" and learn how to turn them into stunning works of art. Inspired by the Japanese concept of Wabi-Sabi — the beauty of imperfection — let's encourage personal expression and transform unexpected messes into masterpieces. With acrylic paint, tea/coffee, glue, and other fun materials, students will create small, experimental pieces before combining their skills to craft a larger final piece. They'll learn the skill of mixing and blending acrylic paint to create new colors and tones, the art of crafting imagery and composition with intention and the joy of working with traditional and non-traditional materials. Get ready to see mistakes in a whole new way! On the final day of camp, we invite parents to a special reception to celebrate their young artists and to see the dollhouse your children have dreamed up throughout the week.
