Instructor: Hannah Hulme Self-portraits are a long-standing tradition in the Arts, giving viewers a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the artist themselves. In this workshop, students will create a self-portrait using acrylic paint. At first, this seems simple enough, but students will be asked to take a deeper look at themselves and how to depict that through art. Using text, patterns and vibrant colors, students will bring their inner selves to life. Students can paint themselves in any style they like - Realism (Rockwell); Cubism (Picasso); Pop Art (Warhol); Surrealism (Dali and Kahlo); or Contemporary (Kehinde Wiley and Amy Sherald). This workshop is a great opportunity for self expression and self reflection.
