For the Watermen & Waterwomen
Whether they are nervous about the deep or excited to take on the waves, our OCEAN Program (formerly Jr. Lifeguard Camp) is all about building "Ocean Intelligence." We focus on turning uncertainty into confidence, giving kids the skills to spot a rip current, the endurance to swim through the surf, and the teamwork to tackle any challenge the ocean throws their way - all without the pressure of intense competition.
For the Parents
We know you want your children to be safe and savvy in the water. Drop them off for a day of rigorous but rewarding ocean education, led by experienced mentors in a tight-knit 1:6 ratio. We keep our groups small (just 12 participants!) to ensure your child gets the personalized coaching they need to grow at their own pace. Peace of mind for you. Skills and confidence for them.
What Makes Our OCEAN Program Special?
- The "Ocean IQ" Sessions: Every morning, we analyze the conditions together. We don’t just tell them it’s safe; we teach them why by identifying tides, swell direction, and navigating rip currents in a controlled, hands-on environment.
- Endurance & Empowerment: We start the day with ocean swims and beach runs designed to build grit and water stamina. It’s not about who finishes first—it’s about everyone finishing stronger than they started.
- Eco-Advocates: Beyond the water, we explore our impact on the coastline. Through beach cleanups and environmental lessons, we help our participants become true stewards of the sea.
- Afternoon Stoke: After a morning of serious skill-building, the afternoon is all about pure fun. We transition into boogie boarding, body surfing, and beach games to celebrate the camaraderie and joy of a day well spent.
- Peer Mentorship: Our coaches lead by example, swimming and running alongside the group. They aren’t just instructors; they are role models who show that being ocean smart is the coolest skill you can have.
What to Bring?
To stay sharp and energized, please provide your child with a labeled water bottle, a snack, and a lunch. *The option to purchase lunch is also available. All participants must wear their provided SPF 50 rashguard for easy identification. *One rashguard is provided per summer. Since we spend most of our time in the water, don't forget a towel, sunscreen, and a sweatshirt for when the marine layer rolls in!
