Ready to roll into adventure? Velo Kids partnered with the city of Holland is offering an Urban Bike- Adventure Camp to help young riders gain the confidence and skills to explore their city safely. Using a fun, proven curriculum, campers will build bike-handling skills, learn group riding techniques, and practice how to ride responsibly on city streets. Each day combines hands-on skill sessions with exciting rides through our community—teaching kids not just how to bike, but how to navigate and appreciate their environment with awareness and respect. Riders should already be comfortable pedaling a two-wheeled bike (no training wheels or balance bikes). Not quite there yet? Check out our Balance Buddies and Pedal Pals programming on our website: www.velo-kids.org/programs/learn-to-ride. This camp is open to all grade-school kids, kindergarten through 8th grade. This year, we’re simplifying our schedule so all campers join us during the same session, rather than offering a separate ‘littles’ time. Campers are grouped by ability, and quick assessments help ensure everyone rides at the right level and can advance to more challenging groups over time. With expert coaches and a focus on fun, safety, and exploration, this camp is the perfect next step for young cyclists ready to take on new adventures in the city. What to Bring: A positive attitude! A helmet and a functioning bike (ideally with gears). Don’t have one? Borrow from our Bike Library! (Contact emily@velo-kids.org if a bike or helmet is needed.) A backpack to carry your own water and snack. The ability to comfortably ride: 1-2 miles (k-1st) 3–4 miles (2nd grade-3rd) 5–6 miles (4th-5th) 7–8+ miles (6th-8th)
